New rooms for rainy day play and relaxing showers | Landmark Lofts

The dormer conversion saw the development of an exquisite design that's expansive, offering the client an airy double room for a playroom. The modern bathroom boasts an outstanding roof dome, creating an incredible sense of space and light.

The Project

With a growing family, Andrew and Lucy were keen to generate additional space in their property in Teddington. Deciding to convert their attic, they wished to create a bedroom and complementary bathroom on the top floor of their home.

Lucy says:

"We had been speaking about it for a long time and the imminent arrival of baby number two made more room a necessity!"

Our Approach

We took great care to ensure their dreams were brought to fruition. Our design consultant worked closely with them to create a design for their loft which suited their needs. Driven by intelligent design, we created a double room in their loft, and a modern bathroom added a harmonious finish to the new space. With the same approach, the project manager cultivated a relationship of trust with Andrew and Lucy, in giving them weekly updates.

Lucy says:

"The design consultation process was unique in itself, with Roza really taking the time to discuss the imaginative options and to explain why certain concepts wouldn’t work, which was refreshing."

The Result

Adding over 230 square feet of extra space to the property, the dormer conversion incorporated an expansive double room, bathroom, two Velux windows, two sash windows and one roof dome, with each space exuding brilliance in every detail. Andrew and Lucy are proud to have a double room that serves as a playroom, and a complementary bathroom bathed in natural light due to a stunning roof dome. They also benefit from the extra built-in storage in the eaves.

For the family, the new space is:

''Mostly as a playroom for rainy days, as well as general extra space and a spare room if needed. It will soon be a bedroom for our eldest son. I’ve adopted the bathroom as mine – it’s quite nice to come upstairs and have a relaxing shower.''
