A loft conversion is the perfect opportunity for you to get the bedroom you’ve always wanted, creating your space completely from scratch. Loft bedrooms are ideally positioned to be bright and airy during summer, but with double glazed windows and insulation, they are still nice and cosy during winter. Take a look at some of our client’s magnificent master bedrooms; perhaps they’ll inspire your own loft designs.
1. A sky-blue on the outside, the owners of this distinctive Richmond home continued the theme indoors with their master bedroom’s royal blue feature wall. Complimented with a blue rug, cushions and lampshades, the room artfully blends contemporary style with more traditional touches. The white side walls and ceiling, along with the two Velux windows, prevents the use of dark blues from becoming oppressive.
2. This double-bedroom in a Victorian house in Fulham features two enormous Velux windows and a sash window, which, combined with the light, neutral walls and upholstery, give the room a bright, contemporary look. The loft also features an enormous, stylish bathroom with sublime lighting underneath the sink unit and behind the mirror.
3. Michal and Katie were able to achieve this elegant loft conversion while maintaining the open-plan design of their ground floor. With built-in cupboards to maximise storage and a custom-made headboard allowing their bed to fit under the eaves, the room represents an excellent use of space. Although it was originally intended as a guest room, the couple liked it so much they decided to adopt it as their own bedroom.
4. Living with their three children in a four-bedroom house, Francesca and Luca felt like their house was getting claustrophobic. They wanted to create a top-floor haven for themselves, with a new master bedroom and a bathroom to reduce the queues for the showers in the morning. Eaves storage and built-in wardrobes allowed them plenty of floor space, and this feeling of spaciousness is reinforced by the minimalist furnishing and neutral walls. In the bathroom, however, Andalusian tiles and wooden fittings add a dash of warmth and colour to their loft.
