Michael and Katie longed for more space in their house in Battersea and chose to convert their attic. As featured in London Property Review South and Time & Leisure Magazine, they had their hearts set on creating a comfortable bedroom with a complementary en-suite bathroom at the top of their mid-terrace property. They approached Landmark Lofts with their design needs, specifically, they wanted a loft conversion that wouldn't alter the open plan layout on the floor below.
We were excited to work with Michael and Katie to design a beautiful and functional space: A space that would exceed all expectations.
They had turned the ground floor of their Victorian terrace into an open plan living area, but believed that they would have to add a partition wall to comply with building regulations, if they wanted to convert the loft space above. We offered them a safe alternative that wouldn't compromise their existing space, but rather, an alternative that would complement their beautifully designed home.
Our highly qualified team of architects and structural engineers are experts in London's planning guidance and advised that they did not in fact need an additional wall built. We sourced a specific alarm system which enabled their plans to pass building regulations, whilst maintaining their open plan ground floor design.
An exceptionally designed living space, the conversion created over 250 square feet of extra space and houses an elegant master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Completed in a contemporary fashion with all finishes to a very high standard, the space is presented in excellent condition, showcasing clever use of built-in storage and bespoke furnishings. The room features built-in cupboards and a custom-made headboard maximises every inch of space, as it allows their bed fit into the eaves. Two large Velux windows in the bedroom allow natural light to flood into the room, making it a perfect oasis of calm. Unsurprisingly, Michael and Katie use this space as their own master bedroom, although it was originally intended to be used as a guest room. The bright en-suite complements the master bedroom, with the large wall to wall mirror enhancing the feeling of openness.
