The Velux conversion

Not all of the conversions that we offer at Landmark Lofts are suitable for each and every type of home. A lot will depend on your current building structure and available space. If you are uncertain, we will send out someone from one of our loft conversions London teams to come and do an inspection and assessment for you. Our staff are all specialists in the loft conversion field and will give you the best advice available.

You can read through our descriptions of lofts to see what you like and what might work for you. We also have illustrations available to give you a better picture of what it is that we do. The four types that our loft conversions London team can install are the Rear Dormer, the Mansard, the Hip to Gable and the Velux. The Rear Dormer, the Mansard and the Hip to Gable all require some structural building, but the Velux does not.

The Velux derives its name from a popular brand of windows that are used in roofs and lofts all over the world. Our loft conversions London team will basically leave your current roof structure as is, except for the addition of the Velux windows. It means in other words that the current roof or loft space is already big enough to do a basic inside conversion to make it suitable for occupancy, but windows will need to be added for light and air flow.

This method is almost always used by home owners who have planning or building restrictions on their homes as it requires no structural changes. It is also very cost effective.
